3 Best Japanese Sunscreen Products That You Should Try!

1. Anessa Aqua Booster Spray

Anessa Aqua Booster Perfect UV Spray

Anessa Aqua Booster Spray is my all time favorite sunscreen from Shiseido. It gives me the best protection from sun burns, and it suits my sensitive skin perfectly.

There are two types of Aqua Booster Spray: Perfect UV and Essence UV. Perfect UV is totally waterproof and water resistance, very good for those who sweat a lot or swim a lot during summer. On the other hand, Essence UV is not as strong as Perfect UV, but it moisturizes your skin. Both of the products has very high level protection of UVB, which is SPF 50+, and very high level protection of UVA, which is PA++++.

I usually uses the Perfect UV spray as I sweat a lot, and I always spray it on top the liquid sunscreen, using it as a finishing touch. The spray leaves your skin dry and non-sticky. Overall, this product is excellent, but it is a little bit pricey as it costs more than 1,500 JPY (price varies depending on the drugstore) for a 60 ml bottle.

2. Biore AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+

Biore AQUA Rich Watery Essence

Biore AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ is also one of my favorite sunscreen products in Japan, as it has very good quality with decent price! Even though it is not as expensive as the other brands, this product works very well on my sensitive skin, and it also gives me good protection from sun burns.

Biore AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ has become the best selling sunscreen product in Japan, for its great quality and low price. It gives you one of the best protections from sun burns, but it also moisturizes your skin at the same time. The texture of this product is very light and hydrating, it protects you from the UVB with its high SPF (50+), and it protects you from UVA with its high level of PA (++++, the highest range of UVA protection measured in the Japanese skin care industry).

I usually uses Biore AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ when I’m low on budget, as it costs less than 1,000 JPY (price varies depending on the drugstore, but usually around 650 JPY to 850 JPY).

3. ALLIE Mineral Moist NEO SPF 50+

ALLIE Mineral Moist NEO SPF 50+

ALLIE Mineral Moist NEO SPF 50+ is my third favorite for Japanese sunscreen products, as it has very nice texture and protection from sunburns. The texture is very light, soft, and hydrating, and it leaves your skins dry. The non-sticky formula works very well, and this product works well on sensitive skin. It gives you very high protection of UVB, which is SPF 50+, and it also gives you very high protection of UVA, which is PA++++.

The only thing that I don’t like from this product is the fact that it is not super waterproof, so I will not recommend this sunscreen if you sweat a lot. You have to re-apply this product at least once in two hours if you sweat a lot, resulting a bad cost performance for a sunscreen. The price of ALLIE Mineral Moist NEO SPF 50+ varies depending on the drugstore, but would be likely around 2,000 JPY – 3,000 JPY for 90 ml bottle or 1,000 JPY – 2,000 JPY for 40 ml bottle. If you sweat a lot, I would recommend ALLIE Extra UV Protector Perfectα S if you sweat a lot!
